The Emergency Department at Black River Memorial Hospital is always open to meet your family's healthcare needs.

 

Call 911 or go to the Emergency Room for:

  • Chest pain/heart attack
  • Changes in vision or trouble speaking
  • Confusion or change in mental status
  • Dizziness
  • Numbness or weakness on one side/stroke symptoms
  • Shortness of breath
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Severe cuts
  • Severe headache – sudden onset
  • Trauma injuries
  • Loss of consciousness/head injuries
  • Broken bones
  • Suicide attempt or suicidal thoughts or threats
  • Pregnancy related problems – abdominal pain or bleeding
  • Alcohol or drug intoxication or overdose

Seek clinic care for:

  • Cuts, scrapes and bruises
  • Ear pain
  • Fever, colds and flu
  • Sinus and upper respiratory infections
  • Skin rashes, insect bites
  • Sore throat
  • Strains and sprains
  • Sudden back and neck pain
  • Urinary burning
  • Pink eye
  • Minor allergies
